Chinese Herbs
How Chinese Herbs Work
Chinese herbs are a strong and a very effective method for treating a variety of conditions. Chinese herbal medicine has a unique approach to herbs. Unlike many herbal disciplines that treat with just one herb, in Chinese medicine patients are given a formula containing a unique combination of herbs, which means that the formula is specific to that patient’s individual needs.
Herbal formulas can come in liquid form and drunk mixed with water, or in tablet form. I always make sure that the herbs I prescribe are safe to take with any medication my patient may already be taking.
Conditions Treated
In my clinic, I use Chinese herbs to treat patients for a wide variety for situations, such as:
- Irregular or long menstrual cycle, for example due to PCOS
- Period pain
- Increasing fertility by increasing blood flow to the ovaries or improving the condition of the endometrial lining of the uterus
- Support during fertility treatment, for example by improving egg quality and preparing the endometrium for implantation
- Supporting women after miscarriage and stillbirth
- Pregnancy-related conditions
- Postpartum conditions
- Menopause-related symptoms
- Digestive system conditions
- Strengthening and supporting emotions
